When is the best time to wash your house in Ohio?
You can wash a house any time it’s above freezing, but some times of year make more sense than others here in Ohio.
Spring: wash off the winter
Spring is the most popular time. Winter leaves siding grimy, and algae starts growing again as soon as it warms up. Washing in spring gets your house looking good for the whole summer.
Summer: when the green shows up
Ohio’s humid summers are when algae grows fastest, especially on shady sides of the house. If your siding has turned green by July, there’s no reason to wait.
Fall: get it clean before winter
Fall is a great time to wash. You knock off a season of growth before it sits on your house all winter, and you go into the holidays with a clean house. It’s also a good time to get gutters cleaned out after the leaves drop.
Winter: wait it out
Once it’s regularly freezing, washing doesn’t make sense. Water can freeze on surfaces and walkways. Winter is the time to get on the schedule for spring.
How often?
Most houses look best washed about twice a year, spring and fall. That’s what our Keep It Clean Plan is for: your first wash is $299, then $249 every six months after that, and we reach out when you’re due.
