Soft washing vs. pressure washing
People use “pressure washing” for everything, but the pros use two different methods depending on what’s being cleaned. Using the wrong one is how siding gets damaged.
Soft washing: for your house
Soft washing uses low pressure, about what comes out of a garden hose, plus a cleaning solution that breaks down algae, mold and mildew. The solution does the work, not the pressure.
- Safe on vinyl and wood siding
- Won’t force water up behind siding panels
- Kills growth at the root so it lasts longer
Pressure washing: for hard surfaces
Pressure washing uses high pressure, usually with a surface cleaner on flat areas, to lift dirt, oil and stains out of concrete. It’s the right tool for:
- Driveways
- Sidewalks and patios
- Stamped concrete
Why not just pressure wash the house?
High pressure on siding can crack or loosen panels, strip paint, etch wood, and push water behind the siding where it can cause problems. It also tends to leave algae behind in the texture, so it comes back faster.
What we do
We match the method to the surface: soft wash for your house, sheds and wood siding, pressure washing for concrete. You get the cleanest result without risking damage, for $299 flat on a full house wash.
